Sketchbooks
Last night I finished a sketchbook.
This is a common occurrence for me, but every time I do fill the last page of a sketchbook, it gives me a little thrill. I like looking back and seeing how often I would draw, the way my subject matter changes, and how I have improved. I think that a lot of artists enjoy doing this.
Sadly, this means I'll have to go to the store soon. Most of the sketchbooks people give me are fun, but...I do enjoy my Canson sketchbooks.
I guess I'll ask some questions. You can answer them if you'd like to.
1. What type(s) of sketchbooks do you like to use?
2. Do any of your sketches eventually turn into finished pieces
Hard Things
This year for school, I took the AP Studio Art class offered by my school. Going into it, I didn't know what to expect. I knew it would be a lot of hard work, and I hoped that I would see improvement throughout the year. I'm pleased by how far I've come, and also relieved for it to be over.
Each student in our class received a black portfolio to hold the work we did. I brought mine home the other day, and looking through it, I'm amazed at just how many pieces I did this past school year. Every week we had a homework assignment, and we also had pieces we had to do in class. Overall, I think I did almost 80 pieces, maybe more.

182?
Last I checked I had barely passed 100 deviations. Where are the 82 that apparently exist?
In other news, owls are really cute.

Just Draw January is over. Though I haven't uploaded much, I did draw a lot this month. It was hard during finals, and I know I didn't get my goal, but it was a good experience.
I'm gonna try to do a different challenge every month. Who knows, maybe I'll get it this month?
For February I'll try to draw for an hour every day of my own projects, and exercise three times a week. We'll see how it goes.
