"And how has your day been today, my good sir?" he asked himself.

"Quite ducky, if I do say so myself. What about you, old chap?"

A few people stared at the strange man.

"Not too good, I'm afraid to say." He looked crestfallen.

"Why, what might be the matter?"

"Those people over there. They think that I'm a loony."

He gasped at himself. "Why, they are quite mistaken! You are the least looniest person that I have had the pleasure of talking to!"

He smiled at his own lack of proper grammar. "Thank you for the encouragement. I can always count on you."

The people around him rushed by, pulling their children away from him. A few whispered about him, thinking that he wouldn't notice. And they wondered why he always went to himself for comfort.
